Spanish Days at the Old Rios-Caledonia Adobe

Sunday, October 22, 2006 will bring an exciting event to the Rios-Caledonia Adobe in San Miguel. “SPANISH DAY AT THE OLD ADOBE”, from 11 AM until 4 PM, will feature many colorful and interesting events, including a program beginning at 1:00 PM featuring: Lively Spanish dancers, traditionally costumed, featuring Irene Ujda and her Yesteryears Dancers Ensemble from Southern California.

Also performing will be musicians performing music from the days of Early California, native singers from the local Salinan tribe, performances by members of the New World Baroque Orchestra and soloists, and the Mission San Miguel Singers under the leadership of John Warren.

There will be re-enactment characters from California’s past, crafts of the 1850's period and demonstrations on making adobe bricks. Spanish food will be sold by the San Miguel Mission’s auxiliary, with monies earned by sale of the food to go to the Mission’s Restoration Fund. The event will be free to the public, with donations encouraged. All are invited.
