Mission San Miguel Arts Presents Guest Artist
Leonard Potter
(Local artist)

My philosophical approach to art remains
“Si post fata venit gloria non propero.” Loosely translated it means...
“if fame comes after death, I can wait.”

Leonard Potter and his wife, Mary Ann, are originally from Santa Barbara, California but moved to and then recently migrated from the L.A. area to the Central Coast after 18 years in the Entertainment Industry, 10 of them as an artisan for Walt Disney Imagineering. His aptitude for sculpture was realized on a trip to Assisi, Italy, when his wife, Mary Anne, said to him “You can do that.”

Essentially self-taught, his focus is on three dimensional art and sculpture. Recent works are in the public archives for the See of Monterey at Mission Carmel, and the Franciscan archives at Old Mission Santa Barbara.
