“In this especially troubling time, this Mission is a very special place of comfort to
those that come here for solace. The Mission church is particularly special because it is
preserved its original condition, unlike most other missions. We are trying to
raise money for another structure to house the parish during services and meetings while this special
place can be cleaned and retrofitted. Thanksgiving weekend seems like a natural time to offer
such unique and beautiful items for sale for the benefit of all!”

Just as in the mission days, when everything given and held dear was created by the hands of local craftsmen and
artists, so too in that spirit, San Luis Obispo County artists and cooks will show off and offer their handiwork
for sale at the San Miguel Mission Arts, Crafts and Food Faire November 23rd and 24th from 9:30am to 4:00pm
and November 25th from 8am to 4:00pm.
In these unsettling times, we are all reexamining our core values and beliefs and realize that often the best
things are made by hand and come “from the heart”. It is with this spirit that this event is conceived.
Highlighting this event is an outstanding boutique featuring: Original Art, Prints, Sculpture, Literature,
Needlework and Crafts all exquisitely made by fellow San Luis Obispo County artists and crafters, as well as Music, Homemade Food and Desserts. In addition to this, demonstrations of the old mission crafts of weaving and
spinning are slated.
This is an event the whole family can have fun and participate in! Extend your Thanksgiving, and kick off the
Christmas season with this relaxing and old-fashioned event. A portion of the sales will benefit the Parish
Building Fund.
